Comparing SuperReading®
with other courses

                                               WRONG FOCUS
Most "speed reading" courses focus on speed. They teach people to skip words, read parts of words and skim along with low comprehension and recall. Such techniques do not enhance the reading experience the way SuperReading® does. In fact, I’ve spoken with attorneys who found those methods to be not just ineffective, but problematical. Missing just one word can change the entire meaning of a section.
Instead of using sound methods to extract the needed information from a document, other courses use “tricks” that give the illusion of understanding, without the depth most people require. In a legal situation, that could be devastating.
I have tested people who have taken “speed reading” courses. When you look at their scores coming in, they are usually down in the lower half of the group! They are reading fast, but their comprehension is pitiful. Most courses do not diligently test for comprehension. I can understand why. It’s embarrassing for them.

AMAZING CLAIMS
There are programs that claim you can flip through pages and come away with the details. I wish this were true. I’ve done these seminars and courses and they do have some intriguing aspects. You can achieve a higher level of brain function. You can do the same with SuperReading®. The pace is more reasonable. Use “common” sense. Your subconscious mind may “know” everything, but it’s your conscious mind that takes the tests and makes the presentations!
I am NOT saying these other programs are worthless. (my parents taught me that rule: “If you don’t have anything nice to say…”) I just want you to know the reality. If you have disposable income, fine. They usually have redeeming qualities. The feedback I get from people who have done them is that they are cumbersome to use and the effort is not worth the payback. They often require five to fifteen minutes of “mental warm-up” to get the brain going. Seriously, even if it worked, are you really going to warm up for ten minutes EVERY time you read? (Maybe if you’re the kind of person who flosses after every single meal and puts away every piece of paper once done with it. Maybe...)
I’ve had students who have tried many programs, and they all say that SuperReading® actually delivers what it says it will. Some actually call us up angry with the other providers. They are frustrated and upset. They start off thinking SuperReading® is going to be the same. I assure them that our guarantee is real and it must work. You do not need a degree in Readology. You do not have to wait weeks or longer for paltry results. SuperReading® starts helping right away and gets even better with time.

                                         FLASHY INFOMERCIALS
I’ll admit, it looks cool seeing a group of people flipping through books and magazines. What can I tell you? If it worked, great. I don’t know who these people are or if they actually use these techniques away from the TV studio.
I know a lot about reading. I’ve purchased some of these courses and I don’t get it. I do see why others get angry. Being in the business, I can write off the investment. I don’t mean to put these products down. I was in advertising and I get a feel for the difference between marketing and substance. So would you.

                                           A REAL EDUCATION:
One company that wanted to market my product insisted that I create videotapes and audiotapes. I explained that tapes were not required, and that they actually slowed progress. They didn’t care. They had a chart showing “Perceived Value” of various items. Here’s what they said: when a consumer opens a box, they start looking at the contents. If the contents are not INSTANTLY PERCEIVED to be worth the value they paid, they are likely to return it.
There’s more. Their research has shown that audiotapes have a perceived value of $9 to $11 each. Videotapes come in at $19 to $25 each. Books, colors and size of the package all figured into their equation.
Their belief is that upwards of 80% of consumers never fully use educational products they purchase. They start the program and soon put it on a shelf. This company believes that a large percentage never even open the package!
Even if all this is true, we have put together an attractive, easy-to-use course that focuses on CONTENT. I’ve done my own research, and people tell me they want a reasonably priced product that delivers what they need. That’s what we have. When you get the product, the perceived value is meaningless to me. Do the course and then YOU TELL ME the value. I will not insult your intelligence by puffing it up with foil stamps, glossy paper and embossed covers. If you want artwork, go to a gallery. If you want to be a great reader, go to our New and Improved Very SECURE and “Easy-To-Use” Better than ever order page! (while supplies last– hurry, hurry, hurry!!!…Don’t miss out!   Attractive Operators standing by) Limited once in a lifetime time offer—– CALL NOW NOW NOW!!!  Crazy prices– you $AVE $AVE $AVE!

Pardon my humor, I just couldn’t resist. We’re pretty low key around here. No hype. Just a great product. Okay, back to reality...

THE BOTTOM LINE

We focus on COMPREHENSION. You’ll be going fast enough that people will look at you and assume you couldn’t possibly understand what you’re reading. To you, it won’t even seem that fast. Your brain will adapt and normalize to the speed. You’ll always be able to control your comprehension, you’ll have great recall and enjoy the process without daydreaming.

The focus is on comprehension because what’s the point of spending ANY time reading if you don’t know what you read? Most speed reading courses have you skipping words, reading half-lines or just key words. At the same or higher speeds, we get you reading all the words!
